How To Get Bluetooth On PC Without Adapter

Bluetooth is a wonderful technology which was introduced for the first time in 1989 Nils Rydbeck, it can transfer data up to 30 feet long, it’s a short distance when compared to WiFi, it was a perfect replacement at that time for cables.

The Bluetooth technology has a lot of applications nowadays, you can find in mobile phones to transfer data or small files between two phones or to connect your phone to a headset or wireless speakers and the list goes on, in short, it’s used to connect two devices in a very small area in order to exchange data or files.

Bluetooth is already built into modern laptops along with Wi-Fi, but desktop computers, unfortunately, don’t have these features but the great thing is that computer is flexible, what I mean is you can add as many features to it as you want, no Wifi or Bluetooth? No problem.

But today I’m going to show you how you can use this amazing technology on your PC without using a Bluetooth adapter.

Why would you use the Bluetooth on your PC

As I said above, the Bluetooth has various uses and applications, but why would you use it on your PC? Let me list below why a regular user like you would use the Bluetooth on his computer.

Gamers

Gamers use Bluetooth for let’s say 4 different things, a mouse, keyboard, wireless headphones, and wireless joystick, maybe more but that what comes to my mind right now.

They use all wireless peripherals so they can move freely without breaking or messing up anything while gaming intensely.

Office Guys

Maybe you’re a person who works in an office where you need to print stuff all the time, a Bluetooth printer can come in handy when trying to print documents all the time.

OK, I’ve listed above some of the possibilities or situations where you can use Bluetooth for, now, let’s get down to business and discuss how you can install or get the Bluetooth on your desktop computer.

How to get Bluetooth on a PC

OK, there are two ways that I know of which you can use in order to get Bluetooth on your desktop computer.

  1. Bluetooth Adapter

I know this is not what you’re here for but it’s an available option, a Bluetooth adapter or as some people may call it USB Bluetooth dongle is an easy and cheap way to allow your computer to connect to other Bluetooth devices but it has some downsides as someone on a forum mentioned, he said it has a poor range which can affect your experience if you’re moving a lot and away and also has some other issues that he didn’t mention plus you’ll experience lower speeds, but fortunately, he mentioned a better alternative, check out the second option.

  1. PCIe Card or a Bluetooth Expansion Card

The other option or alternative to the above one is an Expansion card, the good thing about is that it includes both Bluetooth and WiFi support so it’s like two in one solution, the other thing is you’ll get full download and upload speed as his wife experienced, so there you have it, a better solution to your Bluetooth problem without having to get a cheap USB dongle.

The antenna that comes with the PCI card gives it more power and speed whereas USB dongles don’t have that option, so the choice is yours, if you want a cheap but less powerful solution go for a USB dongle otherwise it’s highly recommended to get an expansion card.
